Thank you to everyone who entered this competition. The entries were of a high standard and we were spoilt for choice this month.
Understandably, due to the brief, we had many masks photos, so we chose the two we thought were the best of the bunch plus an innovative interpretation.
WINNER
Jean Sialelli
We just love the way Jean has framed this shot. The blending of the environment outside, with the people inside the barber’s shop, gives this a new dimension. The reflections create interest and intrigue, while not obscuring the subjects as they engage in a day to day activity, in a very strange way.
SECOND PLACE
Emma Fairbairns
Taking this subject behind glass was very clever of Emma. The subject is behind his mask and behind the glass. He is removed from us twice as viewers, yet this makes it even more powerful as it highlights his isolation. The expressive eyes help to cement this powerful image as the subject contemplates going out.
THIRD PLACE
Kate Neville
Creativity gets you everywhere in Tutor projects and this month is no exception. This is a fun and thoughtful interpretation of the brief, drawing in a few themes from the last few months. It made us smile and we appreciate the effort Kate went to in creating this shot.
We had many HIGHLY COMMENDED shots this month. The gallery can be found on the Facebook page.
