Susan achieved a Distinction by scoring over 90% in the Advanced Diploma in Photography Online Course
I was a teenager when I became the proud owner of my first camera. I remember always being very excited to send my films off for development in the hope that I had taken a good one, and more often than not, disappointed with the results. I went on to own a couple of point-and-shoot digital cameras before purchasing my first DSLR in 2011.
Little did I know when I first held my DSLR the journey of learning, I was about to embark on. P, S, A, M, aperture, ISO, noise etc were all alien terms to me! A few photography handbooks quickly followed my camera, and slowly but surely, I started to learn about the art of photography, finally enrolling on the IOP course in 2014 to consolidate all my knowledge and fine-tune my skills.
I have spent most of my life working with animals, and this is the field that I enjoy photographing most. I have had several photos featured in national and local publications and have most recently been asked to take the cover photos for a national cat charity’s magazine.
My greatest reward as a photographer is being able to capture the beauty of life around me and to be able to share those magic moments with other people.
