I have been in love with photography since I was very young. When I was about 12 years old, my uncle ( a keen photographer) upgraded his camera and gave me his old Pentax Spotmatic F, my first “proper camera” and a few lessons. I loved taking pictures with this camera and used it for ages.
Over time, family and work commitments meant I didn’t have the time to go out and take photographs, and I ended up taking a long break from photography.
In 2021 I was rushed to hospital with a pulse of 240bpm, I had a genetic heart condition and had an ICD fitted and was told to reduce stress. I picked up a camera and started going out with it, perfect stress-free days.
I found the IOP course as I wanted to improve my photos and it has helped me enormously.
I enjoy taking photographs of almost anything, just the act of looking at things and taking pictures gives me pleasure and relaxes me, and if I get a good picture that’s an added bonus.
