I am recently retired after a career as a firefighter. I have been interested in photography for as long as I can remember, but it is only since retirement that I have had the time to take my hobby seriously. Most of my photography is centred on Wildlife, mainly birds, and Landscapes, and I also enjoy taking shots of my Grandchildren.
I shoot with Nikon; I use a D500 for wildlife and a D750 for everything else. Last year I joined the Preston Photographic Society. I started entering my photos in their competitions and managed to do quite well. One of the benefits was that I met people who enjoyed different aspects of photography which opened up opportunities to sample other genres such as motorsport, portraits, events etc. which I enjoyed.
Last year I managed my first acceptance into the British Photography Exhibitions; this has given me the focus and drive to do more with my photography in the future.
