About the course:
Take a journey with IOP’s resident wildlife expert Phil Jones and learn how to capture those wildlife shots that you see and envy. Discover the secrets of capturing wildlife in their natural habitats with our expert guidance.
About Phil:
Phil is a self-taught photographer and specialises in wildlife photography. A former IOP® student, Phil has a few awards and qualifications to his name:
A rare Distinction grade in the Advanced Diploma in Photography from IOP®.
Associateship with the Society of International Nature & Wildlife Photographers.
Licentiateship with the Royal Photographic Society.
His real passion lies with Wildlife (birds particularly) and his love for the Lake District inspires him to do landscape work in the mountains. In the summer months, you will find Phil photographing Military aircraft flying low level through the mountain passes.

Course Includes:
- Pre-course including essential reading and course assignment
- 10am-3pm with your tutor at the agreed location/s
- Printed IOP® certificate of completion given to each student at the end of the day
- Dedicated area on the IOP® forum for discussion and feedback
- The best photos from the day will be shared on the IOP® website and social media for recognition

You Will Need:
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Pen
- Small notebook
- Waterproof clothes (if raining)
- Sunscreen (if hot)
- Cameras and lenses (Ideally 100-400mm range and a wider angle 16-100mm range)
- Memory card
- Charged battery/ spare batteries
- Money for drinks and lunch
- Money for entrance fee (approx £12)
