IOP® use tried and tested online learning methods, delivered through the medium of a bespoke online learning platform so that the photography courses we deliver are structured and simple to follow. Learning photography online has never been easier.
We use a number of different types of learning materials to appeal to all students and these are categorised into READ, PRACTICE, WATCH and INTERACT.
Whatever your learning type, we hope to cover all the bases and deliver online photography courses that speak to every type of student, no matter how you prefer to learn.
When you complete an activity, it is marked as complete on the platform and you can then progress to the next unit. We make sure you are ready to move on before the next unit becomes available and your tutor is available to help you with this. It is this structure that delivers the best result for our students – that they leave a better photographer than when they started.
IOP® do NOT send our course out in CD ROM format as we do not believe that this offers an interactive or structured way to learn. If you are offered photography learning in CD ROM format, carefully consider how truly effective this will be in cementing your learning. CD ROM learning is not an online course.
You can access the IOP® course platform at any time to complete the activities. We do NOT send you emailed content at pre-arranged times or otherwise restrict your access to the content available. You can do your course as and when you like, to suit your lifestyle.
All our photography assignments are practical and are based on getting out with your camera and learning the actual skills needed to become a better photographer. We do NOT ask you to write essays on why you would take a photograph in a certain way as we do not believe that this will practically help you. We DO ask you to take photos based on a brief and then give you practical advice on how to improve based on your needs.
