I’m a young 54-year-old former Biology teacher having worked in International Schools around the world for nearly 20 years. This has given me the opportunity to live and travel in many different places.
I picked up my first SLR and started travelling independently at the age of 17, continuing throughout my first degree and PhD. I also worked on a few BBC Natural World productions as an assistant cameraman before I entered teaching.
Studying this course has given me a fresh impetus to leave teaching and pursue photography.
My main subjects are wildlife and travel, though I also do quite a lot of rock gig photography (another passion of mine).
My current kit comprises a Canon 5dmiii, 7d, and Sigma lenses (150-600 Sport, 120-400, 24-70 f2.8, 10-20 f2.8). I am currently splitting time between Hampshire, Cairo and Dahab (Egypt) and am planning for further trips to central and southern Africa in the future.
I don’t currently have a web page (in the pipeline) but I do have a dedicated Facebook page @iainhmassieWild
