My name’s Adam, and I am an amateur street photographer based in London, and also enjoy other genres of photography, such as portraiture and documentary. I discovered street photography recently in 2018, and since then, have enjoyed learning as much as I can, attending workshops, collecting books, and being out walking the streets.
I find it fascinating observing life take place around me, and enjoy the challenge of trying to capture that in photos without disturbing the scene. It can be both frustrating when things don’t go to plan, but also hugely rewarding when all elements come together in a scene. When I’m feeling bold, street portraiture can also be fun, with the intention of capturing the essence of the person you’re photographing.
I tend to find colour very distracting, and as a result, 90% of my work is in black-and-white.
I am a fan of the Fujifilm digital cameras and are my main tool of choice, the X100 series, in particular, being a favourite, but I also love experimenting with film cameras, including developing and scanning my negatives at home.
