About the course:
Our expert Justin knows how to help beginners in understanding the camera. With tailored advice and a day of practical shooting, your camera will no longer be a mystery after this workshop. Suitable for complete beginners to photography or those who want to refresh their knowledge with the help of an expert. 

About Justin:

Justin is a fashion, portrait, and music photographer who works in both editorial, and advertising photography. He teaches digital and film photography techniques, as well as colour and black & white printing.

He has worked for The Face, Arena, Sleazenation, Dazed and Confused, Spin, Tank, The Guardian, Sky Magazines and many more. 

As well as this, Justin has produced advertising images for Dr Martens, Superdrug, Maltesers, Hewlett Packard, Nat West, HSBC and Eurostar among others.

Justin is an experienced photography tutor, having previously taught workshops in key photography skills for over 22 years, from teaching children in summer camps to more formal courses for adults.

Course Includes:

  • Pre-course assignment
  • Foundation in Digital Photography video course – over an hour of practical, instructional videos to prepare you for the day
  • 10am-3pm with your tutor at the agreed location/s
  • Printed IOP® certificate of completion given to each student at the end of the day
  • Dedicated area on the IOP® forum for discussion and feedback
  • The best photos from the day will be shared on the IOP® website and social media for recognition

You Will Need:

  • Comfortable walking shoes
  • Pen
  • Small notebook 
  • Waterproof clothes (if raining)
  • Sunscreen (if hot)
  • One camera and no more than two lenses. Ideally your camera should have manual setting options. Most cameras (even compacts) have that functionality. Large camera bags should be left at home. 
  • Memory card
  • Charged battery/ spare batteries
  • Money for drinks and lunch
