I’ve spent the last 25 years working in the film industry, my first 10 years as a film projectionist working with 35mm/70mm and digital 2k/4k formats. For the last 15 years, I worked for Columbia Tristar (Sony Pictures), continuing to work with motion picture formats and then moving over to post-production working closely with filmmakers and producers.
Having enrolled on the Professional Diploma in Photography online course, my aim is to gain the knowledge and practices across different types of photography using the course modules, coaching and support to hand so I can build a strong foundation for my craft. To supplement this, I’ve also started the Diploma in Street Photography and Certificate in Photography Business.
The courses are a great way to learn and will apply to a diverse range of individual abilities. You feel in complete control of how and when you want to proceed, the feedback and support are always constructive and give you the confidence to push yourself forward on your creative learning journey.
Living in the rural countryside, I’m fortunate to have landscapes and wildlife on my doorstep which allows me to be outside with my camera most day’s. Urban life is close by providing further opportunities to capture subjects.
Taking inspiration from Dom McCullin I’m keeping an open mind as to what type of photography I will naturally find right for me, most importantly my journey will bring satisfaction and fulfilment to myself and others through my images.
Like all art forms, our work will always be subjective and perceived in many different ways, if our work creates conversations then we have achieved what we set out to do.
