The Institute of Photography specialises in photography courses for complete beginners.
Although our flagship course is called the Professional Diploma in Photography, it’s still entirely suitable for someone who is brand new to photography.
If you are wondering whether this course is suitable for you, read on and we will explain how we work with beginners to make sure you never feel overwhelmed or stuck.
The Professional Diploma in Photography course uses a tried and tested course system, which takes you step-by-step though the learning, without overwhelming you. We don’t skip any steps and take our time to make sure you fully understand one concept, before you move on to the next.
Your Tutor is always on hand to help you. As well as being live on the Course Platform every lunchtime for immediate answers, you can email your Tutor at any time for advice.
The assignments set are designed to move slowly up the levels of difficulty so that as you learn, your skills grow and develop. Each assignment has personal feedback from a Tutor. We never use feedback templates and guarantee each assignment you submit will be professionally assessed with your needs in mind.
As long as you log in to your course at least once per year (which takes only a few moments), you can take advantage of Tutor support and help for as long as you need. Even if you have finished the course, you can come back to us for advice. Once you are an IOP student, you are a member of our student family for as long as you need us.
As you can see, even if you have never picked up a camera before, we can help you become a great photographer. Everyone has the potential to take impressive photographs and we will work with you to make sure that your photography ambitions are fulfilled.
